Proud Past, Bright Future
November, 2011, the Valley Community Foundation moved into our new office space at 253-A Elizabeth Street, Derby. Located on the property of Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home in Derby, Connecticut, the historic Carriage House has long been admired by Valley residents for its charm and character.
The house was home to Andrew and Mary Adzima from 1982-1999. Mary recently told us that when she and Andy were first married, she insisted that they renovate the Carriage House and make it their home. She has many fond memories of her years on Elizabeth Street and is happy that VCF has moved to Derby. “It was an honor to be here and to assist so many Valley families during times of great sadness,” said Mary. “Andy was a very generous person and I was fortunate to be part of his work.”
We begin this new chapter in the story of the Carriage House and the Valley Community Foundation, proud of our past and always looking ahead to the bright future of our beloved Valley.
