Attention Grantseekers: Orientation Sessions in February
Non-profit agencies interested in applying for a grant from
The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (affiliated with The Valley
Foundation) are encouraged to attend a session (listed
below ) on its Responsive New Grants process. The process occurs once a
year and is open to non-profits that provide services in The
Foundation's 20 town region, which includes Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton.
Session date and location:About the application review and grant process
Due
to the high volume of funding requests that come through the Responsive
New Grants process, The Community Foundation uses a two-tiered approach.
Non-profit organizations demonstrating that eligibility requirements
have been met are able to apply through an on-line pre-application. The
pre-application link will be posted in a few weeks. If received by the
March 5, 2010 deadline, these pre-applications will be reviewed and
scored by community reviewers and Foundation staff using a score sheet.
Based on the scoring, a pre-application is either discouraged or encouraged.
If
it is encouraged, a full application will be issued to the grant seeker
and must be submitted by the May 28, 2010 deadline for final
consideration. If a pre-application is discouraged, grant seekers can
contact Foundation staff to discuss their score and have the
opportunity to re-apply during the next grant cycle.
If a
grant seeker has been encouraged to submit a full application, a
reviewer will ask to schedule a site visit or conversation in person or
by phone. Grant recommendations will be presented to The Foundation's
Board of Directors for consideration and final vote on October 21,
2010. Announcement of grant recipients will be made via email and
online.
