Applications Available for Imperato Family Scholarship Fund

Applications are now available to receive funding from the Imperato Family Scholarship Fund. The Fund was established in 2003 by bequest of Eugene (Gene) A. Imperato (b. 1914 - d. 2002) to award college scholarship(s) to graduates or graduating seniors of Derby high school who plan to pursue an education in Business, preferably a Masters. Gene was a native of Derby, the son of Italian immigrants and one of 6 children. He made a living as the owner of Tire Broker in Waterbury and is considered the Founder of the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps, which was named after the infamous Hurricane Diane of 1955 that devastated the Naugatuck Valley.

Applications are due by Friday, April 9, 2010 and should be mailed to or delivered to:
