Valley Neighborhood Grants Available for 2010

The Valley Community Foundation is currently accepting Valley Neighborhood Program Grant applications for the 2010 grant cycle.

The Valley Community Foundation, a supporting organization of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (CFGNH), promotes investment in our community’s leaders.  The Valley Neighborhood Grant Program is rooted in CFGNH’s Valley Neighborhood Small Grants Program but has the purpose of encouraging, identifying, engaging and supporting neighborhood leadership.

Neighborhood groups in Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Shelton and Oxford, CT may be eligible for small grants up to $3,000. Funding is available for neighborhood fairs, beautification efforts, leadership development activities, parent and senior activities and more. Blockwatches, business associations, faith-based organizations, parents and youth groups are encouraged to apply. Non-profits that are all-volunteer or have a staff of 4 or less are also eligible to apply. The Neighborhood Grants Program provides funding ($100 to $3,000), technical assistance and training to civic groups to assist them in carrying out their civic agenda, and to support development and implementation of projects that will improve the quality of Valley life.

All applications must be submitted by 12:00 Noon on Monday, February 1, 2010.
