It is the policy of the Valley Community Foundation (VCF) to make grants in a range from $250 to $10,000, which contribute to and support innovative programs and the urgent needs of our local nonprofits serving the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and/or Shelton, Connecticut. Nonprofits can apply for Needs and Opportunities Grants throughout the year.
Examples of prior funding through this process, include support to repair a damaged boiler system or leaking roof and funding to publish the Riverfront Greenways Guide which helps residents full enjoy the Riverfront Greenways.
The Needs and Opportunities Grants program is designed to promptly address these needs through a simplified application and an expeditious quarterly response.
All applicants must be a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 ( c)(3) or other applicable section of the Internal Revenue Code, or must have a fiscal sponsor with such appropriate status.
Any grant recipient must adhere to a policy of non-discrimination on the basis of age, sex, religion, national origin and sexual preference in all aspects of organization operations.
No applicant may receive more than one non-emergency/urgent grant in any calendar year, and this program may not be used to request event sponsorships.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions regarding this program, or email@example.com if you have questions regarding the technical aspects of the online application.
The 2019 Needs and Opportunities Grant Process is now closed. For additional information, please contact Valerie Knight-Di Gangi, VCF Program Officer, at 203-751-9162.
