About the Valley Community Foundation

The Valley Community Foundation (VCF) carries out the mission of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven in the cities and towns of Ansonia, Derby, Shelton, Seymour, and Oxford. The VCF is dedicated to making the Valley a better place to live and work by increasing philanthropy, especially permanent endowments; connecting donors to needs and opportunities; and providing leadership on critical community issues.

The Gates Society

Make a gift through a provision in your will or other planned gifts and you become a member of the Gates Society. The Society is named in honor of Frank and Ross Gates whose bequests have benefited the Valley community in profound ways – including the seeding of the Valley Community Foundation.
