For more than 30 years, Anthony Mobilio was a dedicated businessman specializing in the Connecticut HVAC industry. He is remembered as a brilliant entrepreneur who owned and operated his own companies and had a long career at the Southern Connecticut Gas Company.

It was this dedication to work, life and his family that motivated his sister and nephew -- Carol Mobilio and Joseph Mobilio, Jr. -- to establish The Anthony Mobilio Memorial Scholarship at the Valley Community Foundation. The scholarship will eventually benefit students at ENTECH Training School in Cromwell. “He was a mentor and inspiration to other HVAC technicians in the heating business, especially his nephew, Joseph, Jr.,” Carol said. Anthony was very essential to his nephew in starting his business, Mobilio and Son Heating and Cooling.

Family always came first, but Anthony also dedicated his life to pursuing education and was an advocate for others in the HVAC industry. He started his education and training in the heating industry at the age of 18. After graduating from ENTECH he worked for Hoffman Fuel for three years before starting Anthony’s Fuel in Bridgeport with his brothers. He would later start his own successful business, Salem Heating and Cooling.

The Mobilio family hopes when students receive their scholarships, it will inspire them to give back to others -- just like Anthony did.
