BAD SONS Beer Co. to Support The Great Give Again in 2019

BAD SONS Beer Company is back with the Charitable Tap Line for The Great Give® 2019.

Derby, CT (March 28, 2019) - Charity is on tap again at BAD SONS Beer Company in Derby for The Great Give® 2019! Throughout the month of April, proceeds from the BAD SONS' Charitable Tap Line will be going towards a "great" cause.

A dollar from every beer purchased from the Charity Tap Line will be going towards a prize for a Valley nonprofit organization participating in The Great Give® 2019. Customers who purchase a pint from the charity tap will receive a token, which they can use to cast a vote for their favorite Valley nonprofit participating in The Great Give®. The organization with the most votes at 8 p.m. on May 2 will get the Charity Tap Prize Pool.

The theme of The Great Give® 2019, which will be taking place from 8 a.m. May 1 to 8 p.m. May 2, is Let's Do This Together. The online giving event for nonprofits serving Greater New Haven is in its 10th year. More than 360 nonprofits have registered to participate in the event organized by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

"At BAD SONS Beer Co. we believe the popularity of craft beer can and should be used to bring people together for the benefit of the local community," says Mike Student, Brand Commander at BAD SONS Beer Co. "Our 'BAD SONS doing GOOD THINGS' charity tap line was introduced for this exact reason and through this tap line, we have been able to create awareness and give back to local charities who support our Valley community. We are proud and excited to be sponsoring a prize in The Great Give® for the second year in a row!"

"We are thrilled to once again partner with BAD SONS Beer Co. to raise prize money for nonprofits participating in The Great Give®," said John Ready, Donor Services and Communications Officer at the Valley Community Foundation. "Whether it's through special events, giving days like The Great Give®, or establishing a fund for a specific purpose, there are a range of creative ways the community can participate in philanthropy."

To help bolster the Valley's support of The Great Give®, Derby Mayor, Rich Dziekan, will also step behind the bar at BAD SONS again as a guest bartender on Thursday, April 18 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. All of Mayor Dziekan's tips for the evening and 25% of the proceeds will be added to this Great Give® prize.

Additionally taking place in April, and for the second year, the Valley Community Foundation, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, and young professionals from around Connecticut are hosting a Board Matchmaking Happy Hour at BAD SONS. That evening, members of the young professional groups will be invited to get to know local nonprofits and find ways to connect as volunteers. Valley nonprofits will each have a representative from their organization to meet potential volunteers and make a one-minute-timed pitch about their organization. Contact the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce at (203) 925-4981 for more information and to register.
