What does estate and financial planning have to do with the racial justice movement?

There is an additional and important way for individuals to take part in the pursuit of greater equity – they can also apply a social and racial justice framework to estate and financial planning.

Mindful planning involves values, relationships, personal capital and social capital, all of which could incorporate the quest for greater social and racial justice. It offers individuals an opportunity to leave impactful legacies to their families and communities for which they will be permanently remembered.

If you're having conversations with clients about social justice and racial equity, you'll want to watch the recording of this webinar.

In this this virtual presentation co-hosted by The Community Foundation and the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven, presenter Elena Pullen-Venma provided a history of the racial wealth gap and her own personal experience growing up as a mixed-race child.

Advisors were presented with ways that interested donors could help address ongoing inequities through their charitable funds and estate plans.
